The SEAFDEC Training Department (TD) in collaboration with REBYC-II CTI project organized “The Training on Fisheries Management for Thailand fishery officer” from 1 to 4 November 2016 at Rayong Province, Thailand. There are 22 new fishery officers who responsible in Port In - Port Out control (PIPO) participated in the said training, aims to capacity building and enhance knowledge on principle of fisheries management and fish gear technology which apply and support for PIPO control work. The training course is focused on status of fishery and management in the national and regional level, fishing gear material, classification of fishing gear, basic of fishing gear construction and design through fishing operation.

Port In-Port Out Control (PIPO) is a measure to combat the IUU fishing vessels which full implement in July 2015 in Thailand. Regard to this system, the fishing vessels weight 30 gross tonnage and over have to report before 12 hours when they entry and depart to the fishing port with the required documents such as Fishing License, Boat registration, Log book, ID of Master fisherman, etc. The fishing vessels which not registration cannot go to the sea for fishing operation.
