THE MULTI-STAKEHOLDER WORKSHOP IN THAILANDThe SEAFDEC Training Department (TD) in collaboration with Department of Fisheries (DOF) of Thailand, and The Oceans and Fisheries Partnership (USAID Oceans) organized “The Multi-Stakeholder Workshop on Fisheries Management Planning Process” from 29 to 30 August 2017 in Songkhla Province, Thailand. There are seventy- nine (79) participants who are fishers, fisheries stakeholder, USAID Oceans Technical Working Group member from Thailand, SEAFDEC staff and USAID Oceans staff participated in the Workshop. The Workshop aims to support DOF Thailand to initiate the crafting of the small pelagic fisheries management plan of Southern Thailand. The Workshop proceeded with the strengthen Catch Documentation and Traceability (CDT) System as effective tool on combating IUU fishing and seafood fraud. Learning site profile of Songkla Province with the issues and challenges of small pelagic fisheries in Southern Thailand was envisaged result of the Workshop with the information supported by stakeholder group from the nation and local fisheries through related government agencies, private sector, civil society organization and individual men and women fishers in small pelagic fisheries.
