The SEAFDEC Training Department (TD) has been organized “The 60th Short-term Training Course of University Students on Ecosystem Approach to Fisheries Management (EAFM)” from 6 to 16 June 2017 at Training Department, aims to build up and give awareness to young generations from Universities on “Ecosystem Approach to Fisheries Management” through responsible fishing for sustainable fisheries. Twenty eight (28) students from seven (7) universities in Thailand and an university in Japan such as Kasetsart University, Chulalongkron University, Burapha University (Bangsan Campas and Chantaburi Campas), Prince of Songkla University, Silpakorn University (Phechaburi Information Technology Campas), Rajamangala University of Technology Tawan-ok (Chantaburi Campas), and Hokkaido University participated in training course. This training course is specifically designed for students to gain knowledge and experience outside the Universities and also they will gain knowledge in theory and practice on land and shipboard about fishery activities. Besides, they are going to survey fishery community in Rayong Province. All of these activities will make the new generations to be more empower and develop in the future.
