The Practical Workshop on Tuna Stock Assessment in Sulu and Sulawesi Seas

The SEAFDEC Training Department (TD) organized the Practical Workshop on Tuna Stock Assessment for Yellowfin Tuna, Bigeye Tuna and Skipjack Tuna Resources in Sulu and Sulawesi Seas (SSSs) which focused by CPUE Standardization, Stock Assessments (ASPIC), and Kobe Plot (Stock Status Trajectory Plot). The Workshop was organized from 21 to 24 February 2018 in Malaysia and attended by eight (8) participants from Indonesia, Malaysia, and Marine Fishery Research and Development Department (MFRDMD). The workshop was aimed at developing human resources on stock assessment through collection of relevant information of yelllowfin, bigeye and skipjack tunas’ in SSSs, and came up with the understanding of researcher on the steps of tuna stock assessments from CPUE Standardization, ASPIC, and Kobe Plot in SSSs. Moreover, the Workshop also came up with recommendations for future activity on stock assessment program of Joint Program on Tuna Research in Sulu and Sulawesi Seas during year 2019-2025.
