INTRODUCTION OF EACDS AND CONSULTATION VISITS ON PSM IN MYANMAR

The SEAFDEC Secretariat and Training Department in collaboration with Department of Fisheries, Myanmar organized the Consultation Meeting on Introduction of the Electronic Asian Catch Documentation Scheme (eACDS) and Consultation Visit on Port State Measures from 11 to 14 June 2018 in Yangon, Myanmar. There were Forty (40) participants from several stakeholders such as fishermen, fish buyers, fish processor, importer, exporter, and government officers attended this Meeting. In this Meeting, SEAFDEC presented the introduction and demonstrations of overall system on e-ACDS including issues of catch declaration, movement documentation, catch certification, processing statement, and re-export certification. In addition, introduction of Regional Fishing Vessels Record (RFVR) database was also presented. In the second day, the Consultation visit was conducted , the DOF Myanmar presented existing fishing licensing and Port Control. The Consultation discussed with the stakeholders about the Port State Measures in Myanmar. Moreover, the observation of two (2) fishing ports was conducted, namely: Viking Marine Product Trading company and Shwe Zin Yaw Hein Manufacturing Co. Ltd. which are certified by European Union.
