CAPACITY BUILDING ON EAFM FOR THAI FISHERIES OFFICERS

The SEAFDEC Training Department (SEAFDEC/TD) organized “The Ecosystem Approach to Fisheries Management (EAFM) Training Course” from 27 to 31 May 2019 in Chiangmai Province, which is located at the northern part of Thailand. There were twenty Thai Fisheries Officers who conduct on fishery management, human capacity development in fisheries field, and fishery extension. This training course focused on integration of EAFM concept to develop fishery management plan, management of problem issue, solves conflict and encourages the participation of fishery stakeholder. The training methodology emphasized on group discussion including participation among participants and resource persons. At the end, the participants were expected to apply knowledge and experiences from this training for their work which relevant to fishery management.
