REGIONAL WORKSHOP ON FISHERIES RESOURCE ENHANCEMENT AND HABITAT CONSERVATION

The SEAFDEC Training Department (SEAFDEC/TD) under-supported by the Japanese Trust Fund (JTF) convened the Regional Workshop on Fisheries Resource Enhancement and Habitat Conservation Measures in Southeast Asian in Kep Province, Cambodia on 9-12 December 2019 which aimed to disseminate the results of the Study on Enhancement of Sustainable Management of the Blue Swimming Crab Fisheries to local stakeholders and SEAFDEC Member Countries and exchange information and experiences on resource enhancement activities from other SEAFDEC Member Countries and resource persons. Furthermore, the workshop was participated by SEAFDEC staff, SEAFDEC Member Countries, Resource persons from Japan Fisheries Research Agency and Hokkaido University, and Local staff and local villagers from Cambodia coastal provinces (Koh Kong, Sihanoukville, Kompot, and Kep), therefore, a total of 52 participants, composed of 14 Women and 38 Men.  Finally, the Workshop had combined the lessons learned from the project, Member Countries, resource persons, and other projects as a way forward for sustainable project activities for recommendation to current and next project on resource enhancement.
