CAPACITY BUILDING ON EAFM FOR RANONG PILOT LEARNING SITE

The SEAFDEC Training Department (SEAFDEC/TD) implements the project on the Small-scale Fisheries Management for Better Livelihood and Fisheries Resources in the pilot learning site of Ranong Province, Thailand. To support this implementation, the strengthening of understanding on Ecosystem Approach to Fisheries Management (EAFM) was conducted via the training course on the Essential Ecosystem Approach to strengthen the capacity of the fisheries officers and key stakeholders for a better understanding of the EAFM concept from 14-18 September 2020. There were sixteen (16) participants (7 males and 9 females) from the Ranong Provincial Fisheries office, Ranong Marine Fisheries Research and Development Station, and community members of Ban Hat Sai Khao village attended in this training course.  The training came up with the draft of the EAFM plan which will be further developed for project implementation in the next step.
