Outcomes

Based on the information exchanged at the meeting as well as the background research conducted prior to the meeting, a ‘research handbook’ will be produced after the congress to summarize key issues and problems facing small-scale fisheries and to set clear prioritized research agendas for the future. A web-based database of studies, institutions and researchers working on small-scale fisheries will be developed and made available to the general public to feature the various work that has been done to advance small-scale fisheries. Moreover, a network of scientists, researchers, and other people interested in small-scale fisheries will be created to encourage communication and collaboration leading to the sustainability of small-scale fisheries and the well-being of those depending on them.
