The SEAFDEC Training Department (TD) in collaboration with SEAFDEC Secretariat, and National Research Institute of Far Seas Fisheries (NRIFSF), Fisheries Research Agency of Japan organized “The Training Workshop on the Standard Methodology for Skipjack Otolith Collection” from 5 to 6 October 2017 in Training Department, Samut Pakan, Thailand. There are nine (9) researchers from Indonesia and TD participated in this training. The lecturers from NRIFSF were invited to enhance capacity on the standard methodology and technique to collect otolith from the skipjack samples and also discussed on the framework for the study on skipjack growth analysis based on the examination of intervals between the daily rings in the otolith samples collected. This Training Workshop is an activity under joint program on tuna research in Sulu and Sulawesi Seas.
