Workshop on Data Validation on Gender Integration in Inland Fisheries in Buri Ram Province, Thailand

The SEAFDEC Training Department (SEAFDEC/TD) in collaboration with the Department of Fisheries (DOF), Thailand conducted the Workshop on Data Validation on Gender Integration in Inland Fisheries in Buri Ram Province, Thailand from 20 to 22 September 2021. The workshop aims to report and recheck the results of the data analysis of Aquatic Animal Food Bank of Subsomboon group, Buri Ram Province including strengthening knowledge on the gender concept to all stakeholders in the community site. Due to the pandemic of COVID-19, the workshop was conducted virtually from SEAFDEC and DOF central office in conjunction with the face-to-face stakeholder workshop at Subsomboon community, Buri Ram Province. There were 73 people (53 female and 20 male) who participate in the workshop which is composed of local participants, DOF officers, and SEAFDEC staff. The result found that local participants understood the general concept of sex and gender and they all adopted the result of the study on Gender Integration in Aquatic Animal Food Bank of Subsomboon group in Buri Ram Province, Thailand. Moreover, the workshop came up with the action plan for further development of the Aquatic Animal Food Bank of Subsomboon group.
