The SEAFDEC Training Department (SEAFDEC/TD) has implemented activities under the project of the Small-scale Fisheries Management for Better Livelihood and Fisheries Resources project in Ban Hat Sai Khao community, Suksamran District, Ranong Province, Thailand as a pilot site. According to this, the training course on fisheries law and regulation was organized on 22 June 2022 which aims to strengthen knowledge of fisheries law and regulation as well as Monitoring, Control and Surveillance (MCS) for 48 participants who are fisheries officers and local fishers of Ban Hai Sai Khao Community. Moreover, to enhance and build awareness of the local fisher and stakeholders in the pilot site on the importance of aquatic resources conservation and management, a squid bank by using cage installation in the sea as hatching squid eggs was established in collaboration with the Department of Fisheries (DOF), Thailand under discussion and agreement from local fisher in the pilot site during 23 to 24 June 2022.
