The Training Department of the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC/TD) provided its specialized facilities to support the “Fisheries Enforcement and Prosecution Course: Session 6” training on 7 October 2026. Organized by the International Law Enforcement Academy – Bangkok (ILEA-Bangkok), the program welcomed 47 participants, comprising 31 men and 16 women. By facilitating both theoretical instruction spaces and practical, hands-on experience aboard its training vessel, M.V. SEAFDEC, SEAFDEC/TD actively supports cross-disciplinary efforts to address complex regional challenges in marine fisheries and maritime law enforcement.
Established in 1998 as a joint partnership between the United States and Thailand, ILEA-Bangkok aims to enhance law enforcement capabilities and foster regional cooperation in combating transnational crime. ILEA-Bangkok’s decision to utilize SEAFDEC/TD’s facilities and training vessel for this advanced course underscores SEAFDEC/TD’s reputation as a well-equipped, premier institution in the region. This utilization of SEAFDEC/TD’s resources reflects a shared commitment to combating illegal fishing and promoting sustainable maritime governance across the region.
