Awareness Building and Enhancement of Fisheries Resources Conservation

The awareness building on fisheries resources conservation in the learning site of Chaung Wa village, Kawthaung, Myanmar was enhanced from 7 to 8 June 2023 by the coordinator of the project on Small-scale Fisheries Management for Better Livelihood and Fisheries Resources who are staff of the Department of Fisheries, Myanmar. This activity was conducted in the local community to provide knowledge and information on conservation concepts and define the appropriate area with the common agreement from the village. The signboard of the conservation zone had been installed to indicate the area and announcement of the conservation of mud crab. The mud crab juveniles were released in the conservation area which could support awareness raising among the community members including the students on the importance of coastal and aquatic resources conservation and management.
