SEAFDEC Training Department under the project “Sustainable Management of Fisheries, Marine Living Resources, and Their Habitats in the Bay of Bengal Region for the Benefit of the Coastal States and Communities (BOBLME II)” organized the “Regional Training Course on Enhancing Capacity Development for Implementing Port State Measures (PSM) Inspection to Combat IUU Fishing” from 1 to 3 April 2025 in SEAFDEC/TD, Samut Prakan, Thailand. The training was attended by 21 participants who engaged in Port State Measure and/or port inspection from the project’s participating countries as Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand. The curriculum included practical sessions on before port entry and vessel inspections, including a field visit to Bangkok fishing port to observe inspection activities. Participants are expected to gain a comprehensive understanding of PSM implementation and practical application to effectively combat IUU fishing, thereby enhancing fisheries management.
