The SEAFDEC Training Department organized the “Regional Training Course for Fisheries Inspectors in the Implementation of Port State Measures (PSM)” from 15 to 18 September 2025, at the SEAFDEC/TD in Thailand. The training aimed to build the capacity of participants to better understand techniques for PSM and port control implementation. This included an understanding of innovative tools for analysis, notification, and support for PSM and port control. Resource persons were provided by SEAFDEC’s partners, including the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the IMCS Network, Global Fishing Watch, and Skylight. A total of thirty-three (33) participants from ASEAN Member Countries (AMSs) attended the training. These participants are actively engaged in and conduct PSM and/or port control activities. By the end of the course, participants had increased their knowledge, skills, and experience for conducting inspections to support the implementation of PSM and port control. This training course was conducted as an activity under the ASEAN-JICA project.
