The three-day Workshop on EAFM Plan Development for Koh Panyee (Phang Nga) and Rawai (Satun), held 19–21 August 2025 in Trang Province under the BOBLME Phase II Project, was smoothly carried out and achieved its expected outputs. Around 40 participants, including fisheries inspectors, provincial chiefs, local leaders, community organizations, academics, and EAFM practitioners—finalized community-specific EAFM plans, developed practical implementation strategies, and completed targeted training on EAFM and gender considerations. Special sessions addressed local priorities such as the sustainable management of short-body mackerel in Rawai.
The workshop strengthened stakeholder capacity and fostered stronger regional networks for ongoing cooperation. With clear, actionable plans and renewed commitment from local authorities and communities, the initiative sets a solid foundation for healthier ecosystems and more resilient coastal livelihoods in the Andaman region.
