Two staff of the Marine Engineering Section of the Training and Research Supporting Division of SEAFDEC/TD participated in the “Thailand Research Expo & Symposium 2026” from 22 to 26 June 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand. Organized by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), the event served as a national platform to showcase innovative research and promote stakeholder collaboration. The SEAFDEC/TD staff joined as members of a collaborative research team with the Department of Fisheries (DOF) of Thailand to present the findings of the NRCT-funded project entitled “Efficiency of Ozone Slurry Ice in Black Tiger Shrimp and Cold Chain Logistics Management of Shrimp Farmer Clusters in the Andaman Zone.” The study investigated the application of ozone slurry ice technology and temperature-controlled logistics to enhance the quality and shelf life of black tiger shrimp, thereby supporting the export potential of farmer clusters in the Andaman coastal region.
During the symposium, the research findings were disseminated to researchers, government agencies, and industry stakeholders to provide practical guidelines for shrimp depots, collectors, and farmer groups throughout the supply chain. The presentation demonstrated how integrating ozone slurry ice with effective cold chain management could reduce quality deterioration and strengthen the competitiveness of Thailand’s aquatic products. In recognition of their contributions to the project’s successful implementation, the research team members received Certificates of Appreciation from the NRCT. This achievement reflects SEAFDEC/TD’s continued commitment to promoting research andinnovative post-harvest technologies, strengthening partnerships with national agencies, and supporting sustainable fisheries development in the Southeast Asian region.
