Delivery of Training Equipment to the Department of Fisheries

On 12 June 2026, SEAFDEC/TD officially handed over a set of solar-cell training equipment to the Fisheries Ground Development and Rehabilitation Group, Marine Fisheries Research and Development Division, Department of Fisheries. This event followed the completion of the training course on “Reducing the Costs of Small-Scale Fisheries Operations Using Solar Cells” held on 4 June 2026 in Bang Saphan District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. The handover aimed to support future capacity-building activities and promote the continued dissemination of knowledge on solar energy applications in fisheries.

The equipment was provided to facilitate training, demonstrations, and practical exercises for fisheries officers, fishers, and other interested stakeholders. The training set included four solar panels, four inverters, four batteries, and four charger controllers, all of which were inspected and confirmed to be in good condition and ready for use.

The equipment is expected to serve as an important learning resource for future training programs on solar energy systems, enabling participants to gain practical experience in system assembly, operation, and maintenance. Through the continued use of these training materials, the Department of Fisheries will be able to strengthen technical capacity among fisheries personnel and local fishing communities, supporting the adoption of renewable energy technologies and contributing to sustainable and cost-effective fisheries development.

The handover reflects the continued collaboration between SEAFDEC/TD and the Department of Fisheries in promoting renewable energy applications in the fisheries sector and enhancing the resilience of small-scale fishing communities through innovative and environmentally friendly technologies.
