SEAFDEC/TD Delivers Training on Gender Mainstreaming in Fisheries Management at University of Phayao

The SEAFDEC Training Department (SEAFDEC/TD) staff, Ms. Jariya Sornkliang, Fisheries Management Scientist was invited from Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources, University of Phayao to impart knowledge as guest lecturer on Gender Mainstreaming in Fisheries Management for 26 students (16 females and 10 males) who learn in the Fisheries Technology and Innovation Course from 21 to 22 September 2024 at University of Phayao, Phayao province, Thailand. The lecture covered sustainable fisheries management with a focus on ecological and socioeconomic aspects, transitioning into gender concepts, gender mainstreaming tools, and the integration of gender into fisheries practices under SEAFDEC projects. The students engaged actively, gaining and sharing insights on gender issues in fisheries throughout the session.
