SEAFDEC/TD Welcomes New M.V. Plalung, a Prototype of Trawler

The new M.V. Plalung arrived the SEAFDEC Training Department (SEAFDEC/TD) on 29 September 2020 and welcome ceremony was organized in the same date. The new M.V. Plalung is wood vessel, 44.99 GT, 19 meters of length, 4.67 meters of breadth, and 2.05 meter of depth. The new M.V. Plalung will be improved as prototype of trawler to support training and research activities by SEAFDEC/TD along the coastal area of Thailand. Regarding work in fishing convention (C188), M.V. Plalung plan to improve on livelihood, hygienics and safety at sea of crews during on board. Moreover, new technology on optimizing energy which support low impact to environment and fuel efficiency, instruments to reduce manpower of fishing operation including technology of fish handling and preservation quality of fish on board will be installed to M.V. Plalung.
