Second Regional PSC Meeting of the GoTFish Project Convened in Malaysia

The Second Regional Project Steering Committee (2RPSC) Meeting of the GoTFish Project was convened on 23–24 June 2026 in a hybrid format at the Moxy Hotel, Putrajaya in Malaysia, bringing together a total of 34 participants (19 women and 16 men) joining both in person and online. The delegates included PSC Members and National Focal Persons from Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, and Viet Nam, alongside representatives from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC), Sustainable Fisheries Partnership (SFP), and the University of Queensland (UQ).

In the 2RPSC Meeting, SEAFDEC Secretary General and 2 SEAFDEC senior officials participated in the meeting. During the meeting, the PSC Member from Cambodia was elected as Chairperson and the member from Thailand was elected as Vice-Chairperson. The Committee conducted a comprehensive review conducted a comprehensive review of the project’s Year 1 implementation progress. The PSC officially endorsed the Year 1 Progress Report as well as the Year 2 Annual Work Plan and Budget for the period of July 2026 to June 2027. The PSC also actively discussed environmental and social safeguards, regional coordination mechanisms, and emerging strategic issues, continuing to build a solid foundation for sustainable transboundary fisheries management and the Blue Economy in the Gulf of Thailand.
