Workshop on Finalize and Handover of the EAFM Plan and Capacity Building in EAFM and Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) for Trapaing Sangke Community Leaders, Cambodia

The Training Department of the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC/TD) organized the Workshop on Finalize and Handover of the EAFM Plan and Capacity Building in EAFM and Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) for Trapaing Sangke Community Leaders, Cambodia from 17 to 18 August 2026 in Vientiane Capital, Lao PDR.

The workshop brought together 8 participants (4 female and 4 male) from the General Directorate of Fisheries of Cambodia, the Cambodia Agricultural Science Academy (CASA), Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) of Cambodia, Kampot Fisheries Administration Containment, Trapaing Sangke Fisheries Community, the Department of Livestock and Fisheries of Lao PDR, and SEAFDEC/TD. The workshop aimed to strengthen the capacity of Trapaing Sangke Community Fishery leaders on the implementation of the finalized EAFM Plan and Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI), promote knowledge exchange on inclusive and sustainable fisheries management, identify priority follow-up actions, and officially hand over the finalized EAFM Plan to the General Directorate of Fisheries of Cambodia and the Trapaing Sangke Community Fishery.

This activity was conducted under the Japanese Trust Fund 7 (JTF7) Project: Improving Fishers’ Livelihoods and Fisheries Co-Management in Coastal Small-Scale Fisheries (2025–2029), implemented by SEAFDEC/TD in collaboration with the General Directorate of Fisheries of Cambodia.
