Regional Training Course on Marine Debris and Microplastics Sampling Collection and Analysis

The SEAFDEC Training Department (SEAFDEC/TD) organized โ€œThe Onsite Regional Training Course on Marine Debris and Microplastics Sampling Collection and Analysisโ€ from 18 to 25 August 2022 at Training Department, Samut Prakan, Thailand. The aim of the training is to build up the capacity of researchers on marine debris and microplastic sampling collection and analysis through strengthening the network of marine debris and microplastic researchers in the region. There were 25 participants from AMSs attending this training. The relevant subjects were imparted by resource persons from universities in Japan and Thailand which focused on the world marine debris situation, management of marine debris and microplastics, introduction to seafloor debris through survey methodology, hand-on exercise for line transaction methods by program R, demonstration of survey and record,ย etc.ย This training is an activity under the project โ€œSustainable Utilization of Fisheries Resources and Resources Enhancement in Southeast Asiaโ€
