SEAFDEC/TD Participate in FAO-ICES Symposium and the ICES-FAO WGFTFB26

SEAFDEC/TD staff, Mr. Santiphong Putsa (Fishing Technology Researcher), participated in the “FAO-ICES Symposium and the ICES-FAO Fishing Technology and Fish Behavior Working Group Meeting (WGFTFB26)” held from 11 to 15 May 2026 in Cairns, Australia.

During the event, Mr. Santiphong delivered an oral presentation entitled “Advancing Mitigation of ALDFG through ROV Development: Evidence from a Field Demonstration in Rayong, Thailand” under the symposium theme “Marine plastic pollution from Fisheries: Developments, innovative technologies, and approaches to prevent and reduce marine plastic pollution with a focus on addressing abandoned, lost or otherwise discarded fishing gear (ALDFG) and ghost fishing.”

His participation provided an opportunity to exchange knowledge and engage in discussions with experts in the fields of fishing technology and fish behavior from the FAO and ICES member countries, as well as with other international researchers.
