The SEAFDEC Training Department (SEAFDEC/TD) extended a warm welcome to Dr. Gabrielle L. Johnson, Senior International Program Manager from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), on 13 August 2026. During the visit, SEAFDEC/TD officials provided an overview of the department’s structure and its regional role in fisheries development. A representative from SEAFDEC/TD presented upcoming training activities, with a primary focus on combating Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated (IUU) fishing. Furthermore, both parties discussed potential future collaborations to support capacity building in combating IUU fishing and other related areas for ASEAN Member States. On this occasion, Dr. Johnson also toured SEAFDEC/TD facilities, including the fishing workshop and the research vessel M.V. SEAFDEC.
