Training on Gender Mainstreaming in Fisheries Sector

The SEAFDEC Training Department (TD) in collaboration Inland Fisheries Resources Development and Management Department (IFRDMD) organized “The Training on Gender Mainstreaming in Fisheries Sector” from 6 to 8 September 2022, at IFRDMD office, Palembang, Indonesia. The training aims to ensure a better understanding and awareness of gender aspects and to know how to promote mainstream gender in developing fisheries management policies/programs. There were 21 fisheries officers in Palembang and the staff of IFRDMD participated in the training. The training program provided the participants with a gender concept for awareness building and the process to integrate gender mainstreaming into fisheries to guide the participants into integrating gender into their workplace. The training was conducted through active participation from participants and the strengthening of knowledge and sharing the experiences on gender in Fisheries.
