Mr. Kongpathai Saraphaivanich, Head of the Training and Research Supporting Division at SEAFDEC/TD, was invited to speak at the Seafood Traceability Technical and Industry Engagement Workshop. The event was organized by the Directorate General of Marine and Fisheries Product Competitiveness, Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Indonesia, in collaboration with the Indonesian Pole & Line and Handline Fisheries Association (AP2HI) and the Global Dialogue on Seafood Traceability (GDST). Mr. Kongpathai presented on the subject “Regional Traceability Tool for Fish and Fishery Products” on 8 April 2026 via a virtual platform.

The workshop aimed to strengthen the implementation of the National Fish Traceability and Logistics System (STELINA) platform, promote the adoption of global traceability standards, and enhance collaboration among government agencies, industry stakeholders, and technology providers particularly within the tuna, crab, and shrimp supply chains.

During his session, Mr. Kongpathai highlighted the importance of Catch Documentation Schemes (CDS) for effective fisheries management and the traceability of fish products. He also introduced the electronic ASEAN Catch Documentation Scheme (eACDS) as a key regional tool for ensuring sustainable and transparent fisheries trade.
