Compilation of Lesson Learned on the Project: Small-scale Fisheries for Better Livelihood and Fisheries Resource and Fisheries Resource Project

SEAFDEC Training Department (SEAFDEC/TD) organized the “Regional Workshop on Compilation of Lesson Learned on the Project: Small-scale Fisheries for Better Livelihood and Fisheries Resource and Fisheries Resource” from 5 to 7 August 2024, at Krabi Province, Thailand. The workshop was attended by 41 participants (22 female and 19 male) from ASEAN Member States (AMSs), SEAFDEC/SEC, and three departments (TD, AQD, and IRFDMD). The Workshop aimed to summarize the key successes, challenges, and lessons learned from the project implementation in participating countries namely Cambodia, Myanmar, and Thailand. The way forward to strengthen small-scale fisheries management in Southeast Asia was also discussed in the Workshop. Moreover, the participants visited Ban Nai Nang Community which is the ecosystem approach to fisheries management (EAFM) learning site of the project through observing the activities implemented by the community such as fisheries resources conservation and rehabilitation area, apiculture, mangrove conservation, crab bank, and processing groups.
