First Regional PSC Meeting of the GoTFish Project Launched in Bangkok

The First Regional Project Steering Committee (RPSC) Meeting of the GoTFish Project was convened on 20 November 2025 in Bangkok, Thailand, bringing together 28 delegates from Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC), the Sustainable Fisheries Partnership (SFP), the University of Queensland (UQ), Countries Representatives as  PSC Members and National Focal Points from Cambodia and Thailand, as well as observers from Malaysia and Viet Nam.

During the meeting, the PSC Member from Thailand was elected as Chairperson, with Cambodia elected as Vice-Chairperson. The meeting marked the official launch of the project’s governance structure to improve natural resource governance in the Gulf of Thailand through the implementation of the Ecosystem Approach to Fisheries.

The PSC endorsed the Terms of Reference for the Project Steering Committee. The Year 1 Workplan and Budget for 2025 and the 1st quarter and 2nd quarter of 2026 were presented and endorsed, along with key recommendations from the Inception Meeting. The 1RPSC also discussed coordination mechanisms, safeguards, and upcoming actions, establishing a solid foundation for effective regional cooperation under the project.
