SEAFDEC/TD Meeting with Lao PDR Delegates to Discuss Capacity Building for Fishers

On 27 October 2025, the SEAFDEC Training Department (SEAFDEC/TD) welcomed five delegates from the Institute of Skill Development, Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare of Lao PDR and Hung Huong Employment Service Sole Co., Ltd. to discuss crucial capacity-building initiatives for Lao PDR fishers. The visit included a presentation on SEAFDEC’s role and activities, followed by a specific consultation with Hung Huong Employment Service Sole Co., Ltd. on the need for training in areas such as basic marine fishing gear construction, marine fishing techniques, and essential skills for working onboard vessels. The delegation concluded their visit by observing TD’s operational facilities, including the fishing workshop and the training vessel, M.V. SEAFDEC.
