Strengthening the Capacity of Fishers to Access the Financial Service in Ranong Province

SEAFDEC Training Department (SEAFDEC/TD) organized the “Training on financial access and micro-insurance for small-scale fisheries” at Ban Hat Sai Khao Village, the pilot learning site in Ranong Province on 16 November 2023. The training aim to provide knowledge on financial access and micro-insurance for small-scale fishers. Twenty-one (21) local fishers participated this training. The resource persons from Bank of Agriculture and Agriculture Cooperatives and Department of Fisheries, Thailand were invited to impart knowledge on financial information on loan application and financial service scheme and insurance system for small-scale fisheries that could enhance their capacity in accessing financial services as well as facilitate the fishers to meet the appropriate financial products from financial institutions and insurance agency. This training is an activities under the project “Small-scale Fisheries Management for Better Livelihood and Fisheries Resources”
