Training Course on Data-Limited Fish Stock Assessments Using R-Statistical Program

SEAFDEC/TD organized the “Regional Training Course on Data-Limited Fish Stock Assessments Using R-Statistical Program” from 6 to 10 August 2023 in SEAFDEC/TD, Samut Prakan, Thailand. The training aims to encourage knowledge and skills on fish population dynamics and stock assessment based on the R-Statistical program. Twenty-seven participants who are fishery officers and/or researchers from ASEAN Member States (AMSs), TD, and MFRDMD attended this training.  In the end, all participants were expected to improve their knowledge of the data-limited stock assessment method. Moreover, the network of human resources in the region on fish stock assessment was strengthened. This training is an activity under the project “Sustainable Utilization of Fisheries Resources and Resources Enhancement in Southeast Asia”.

R is a programming language for statistical computing and graphics. R is used among data miners, bioinformaticians, and statisticians for data analysis and developing statistical software.
