SEAFDEC/TD Hosts King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) Students for Educational Fisheries Tour

On 18 November 2025, the SEAFDEC Training Department (SEAFDEC/TD) welcomed 99 university students from the Faculty of Fishery Science and Aquatic Resources at King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) Prince of Chumphon Campus. The visit was specifically organized to provide these future fisheries professionals with practical insights into SEAFDEC’s regional mandate and operational capabilities, beginning with a comprehensive briefing on the organization’s vital role in promoting sustainable fisheries management and resource conservation across Southeast Asia.

Following the informational presentation, the students embarked on a detailed tour of SEAFDEC/TD’s facilities, focusing on hands-on learning. Activities included a practical fishing workshop where staff demonstrated the proper use and function of various fishing gear. The educational trip’s main highlight was a visit aboard the M.V. SEAFDEC, the research and training vessel, allowing the university group to observe advanced navigational equipment.
