Online Regional Training on Deck Machinery and Hauling Devices

The SEAFDEC Training Department (SEAFDEC/TD) organized the “Online Regional Training Course of Deck Machineries and Hauling Devices to Reduce Manpower in Fishing Vessels and Enhance Safety in Fishing Operations” from 5 to 6 May 2021 via zoom platform. There were 29 participants (26 males and 3 females) from ASEAN Member States (AMSs) who have relevant work experience in mechanic, technician and/or engineer attended in the said online training. The online training consisted of three modules as follows: lecture, online demonstration, and discussion which aims to build up the human resource capacity of target participants. At the end, the participants were expected to transfer and utilize the knowledge and information on hauling devices, energy-saving, and safety at sea for capture fishery obtained from training to apply on their responsible area including strengthen on threats, issues, and the way forward for the promotion of hauling device, optimizing energy used and safety at sea in capture fishery and fishing fleet. Moreover, the network of stakeholders in coastal/deep sea to share and exchange of the information and technology on hauling device, optimizing energy used and safety at sea is an expectation of this online training course.
